Any research will be carried out confidentially and only after consultation and authorisation by the customer.
Research carried out will be specific to the family involved and can result in histories being traced back to the late 1700's. However, it is hard to predict the outcome which makes the research exciting. The customer will be given a report at the end of each research phase and can also be regularly updated by e-mail if requested.
The research carried out is charged on an hourly basis of £15 per hour (Spring Special -£10 per hour) that includes any expenses for searches, local travel and postage.This means the research can be tailored to any budget as required. Ancestral Solutions is not registered for VAT. The introductory free consultation will identify an initial phase of research, typically 3 to 4 man hours, to establish how much information can be found.This will identify possible further phases of research that could be undertaken which will be discussed with the client and carried out if required.
Any additional costs items, eg ordering of certificates or extended travel, are only incurred after consultation and authorisation by the customer.
Payment can be made by PayPal through an invoice e-mail or by cheque to 'Ancestral Solutions'.
Payment needs to made before any research is undertaken. If at any time we consider that the research is proving limited, the customer will be informed immediately and given the opportunity to terminate the work. If the work is terminated a refund will be made less any time and expenses incurred.
Disclaimer - Family History records are not always accurate, in particular due to poor handwriting or in errors in transcribing to databases. Results will be verified as far as possible to provide accurate results. If however, you believe an error has been made I will attempt to verify your findings and if necessary rectify any work done.
Any complaints will be respectfully investigated and responded to within 7 days.
Customer information is handled in accordance to the Data Protection Act 1998.
The customer has the right to cancel their order within 7 days of ordering and any monies paid in advance will be refunded less any expenses already incurred.
